At the core of the biography is a question that Lofthouse asks with wonder: “Where does America get such gallant men?” Lippman—one example, Lofthouse argues, of many such heroes—exemplified “leadership, humility, courage, faith, and loyalty.” …Lofthouse does an excellent job relating Lippman’s valor in such a way that it is sure to inspire more.
